🔄 How Rentals Work
Choose Your Rental Period
All rental items offer flexible pricing:
- Daily: Pay per day – Perfect for short-term needs
- Weekly: Discounted weekly rate – Save vs daily!
- Monthly: Best value – Biggest savings for long-term rentals
💳 Payment Process
First Payment (Due at Checkout)
Rental Price + Refundable Deposit
Example: Monthly bicycle rental at $250/month + $100 deposit = $350 due now
Recurring Payments (Auto-Charged)
After your first period, you’ll be automatically charged for each subsequent period:
- Daily rentals: Charged every day at same time
- Weekly rentals: Charged every 7 days
- Monthly rentals: Charged on same date each month
Only the rental price is charged – NOT the deposit again!
🔒 Security Deposits
When You Pay
- Deposit charged at first checkout
- Held securely by Square/Stripe
- Separate from rental payments
When You Get It Back
- Return item in good condition
- We inspect for damage
- Deposit refunded within 3-5 business days
- Refunded to original payment method
Deposit Deductions
Deposit may be partially or fully retained for:
- Damage beyond normal wear and tear
- Missing parts or accessories
- Late return (over 7 days past cancellation)
- Cleaning fees for excessive dirt/mess
📅 Cancellation & Returns
How to Cancel
- Log into your account
- Go to “My Subscriptions”
- Click “Cancel Subscription”
- Provide 30 days notice
- Schedule item return
Return Timeline
- Daily rentals: Return within 24 hours of cancellation
- Weekly rentals: Return within 3 days of cancellation
- Monthly rentals: Return within 7 days of cancellation
Refund Policy
- No refunds on completed rental periods
- Partial refunds for unused days (monthly rentals only)
- Deposit fully refunded if item returned undamaged
🚫 Late Returns
If item is not returned within the return timeline:
- $25/day late fee (daily rentals)
- $50/day late fee (weekly rentals)
- $100/day late fee (monthly rentals)
- Deposit may be retained after 14 days
💡 Example Scenarios
Scenario 1: Monthly Bike Rental
Brompton Bicycle – Monthly Plan
- Day 1: Pay $250 + $100 deposit = $350
- Day 30: Auto-charged $250 (rental fee only)
- Day 60: Auto-charged $250
- Day 75: Cancel subscription
- Day 78: Return bike in good condition
- Day 80: Receive $100 deposit refund
Total cost: $750 for ~2.5 months + got deposit back!
Scenario 2: Daily Car Rental
Tesla Model 3 – Daily Plan
- Day 1: Pay $100 + $500 deposit = $600
- Day 2: Auto-charged $100
- Day 3: Auto-charged $100
- Day 4: Cancel and return same day
- Day 7: Receive $500 deposit refund
Total cost: $300 for 3 days + got deposit back!
